Christopher Meloni’s fans got a rare treat this week as a distillery in Connecticut released new commercials starring the 63-year-old actor.

The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actor appeared in two new video advertisements that Mine Hill Distillery released on Wednesday, May 22. One promoted the brand’s bourbon, while the other promoted its gin.

In the ad for Mine Hill’s bourbon, Meloni briefly tested out his take on a British accent. The clip began with Meloni walking through the distillery wearing a plaid shirt and jeans. Seventeen seconds into the 48-second ad, Meloni suddenly added a tri-corner hat to his ensemble as he reminded viewers of Connecticut’s history as one of the 13 original colonies.

“You think it’s all fun and patriot games here? Nutmeg and constitutions?” Meloni asked while holding up a jar of nutmeg and a roll of parchment. “If it weren’t for Connecticut, I’d be talking to you in an English accent right now.”

The commercial then switched to a different view of Meloni wearing what looked like a British military uniform and a white wig. He delivered his next line in a British accent: “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.”

The second commercial Meloni filmed for Mine Hill began by mentioning some of the items that Connecticut is “famous for,” including nutmeg, frisbees, and a hamburger origin story. Meloni acknowledged that, while the state isn’t known for gin, “that’s about to change.” He then shared some of the details about the Connecticut-based liquor as he urged viewers to try it out.

Unfortunately for Meloni’s fans, the Law & Order: Organized Crime star only tested out his British accent in one of the two commercials. Even so, fans online were happy to simply have more Meloni content.

“I'm very simple... I see Chris Meloni, I click,” one fan wrote on YouTube.

“Yup my man knows what's what 🔥🔥🔥,” another fan wrote on Instagram.

“Now that’s what we call a great spot! Meloni is the man! 🍸🥩,” another Instagram user said.

One fan’s Instagram comment suggested Meloni’s involvement in the commercial was already working. “You have my attention and i would also like to try your legendary beverage,” they wrote.
