SOUTH BEND — Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana will offer the free class “Alzheimer’s and Dementia 101” from 10 to 11 a.m. May 6 in the Care Partner Academy. Patty Piechocki, director of the Institute for Excellence in Memory Care, will lead this live/interactive web session. Participants can connect through their computer. SOUTH BEND — RiverBend Cancer Services Wellness House, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., will offer the following “Living Well with Cancer” classes. GOSHEN — Goshen Parks & Recreation is offering Zumba classes to help participants de-stress, lose weight and make new friends. The class is held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; 10 to 11 a.m. Saturdays through the month of October. The cost is $5 drop-in rate. Class is held at Fidler Pavilion, Pringle Park, 1912 W. Lincoln Ave.

BUCHANAN — The Buchanan Area Senior Center, 810 Rynearson St., 269-695-7119, offers the following exercise classes and health checks through the end of May. The exercise room is open all hours BASC is open. The BASC will be closed on May 27.

• Mondays: 10 a.m. Chair fitness with Linda; 11 a.m. Dancing to the Oldies with CeCe; 2 p.m. Qigong exercise.

• Tuesdays: 9 a.m. Osteo fit with Missy; 5:30 p.m. Powerbeats with Missy.

• Wednesdays: 10:15 a.m. Chair fitness with CeCe.

• Thursdays: 11 a.m. Chair yoga.

• Fridays: 9 a.m. Powerbeats with Missy; 10 a.m. Chair fitness with Lizz.

• Blood Pressure Checks — Always Best Care Senior Services will be at the BASC from 10 to 10:30 a.m. May 9 and May 23.

• Hearing Aid Checks — Dr. Michelle Ridenour from Miracle Ear, will be at the center from 2 to 3 p.m. May 21, to check ears for wax, clean hearing aids and answer questions. Call the BASC to register.

• Senior Nutrition – SNS/Meals on Wheels of SW Michigan announces the meal site in the Center is open. Lunch starts at noon. Call Kerri at 269-695-7119 by 10 a.m. Monday-Friday to reserve your meal the next business day. Seating is limited. Ask about home delivery service for qualifying homebound seniors. Must be 60 years or older.

• Pamper Your Feet — Monthly foot clinic through Blessed Feet LLC, beginning at 9 a.m. May 9. Initial appointment fee is $40; all subsequent appointments will cost $30 (checks payable to Blessed Feet LLC). Not covered under any insurance. Call the BASC to schedule an appointment.

• Fireside Chats with Gayla, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., May 9: Group Chat — bring your topic to the table; May 23: Group discussion on grief.

Events

BENTON HARBOR — The 26th Annual Senior Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 10 at the Mendel Center at Lake Michigan College, 1100 Yore Ave. Admission is free, and seniors will experience the Health & Wellness Pavilion sponsored by Corewell Health Lakeland, door prizes, vendors, and the Buchanan Area Senior Center and Greater Niles Senior Center patrons will be performing. The expo is presented by Region IV Area Agency on Aging and The Herald-Palladium.

MISHAWAKA — The Saint Joseph Health System Mobile Medical Unit will offer 3-D mammograms every weekday in May at locations in St. Joseph, Elkhart and Marshall Counties. In addition to the 3-D technology, the MMU features a medical exam room and intake area for gathering patient information. Support Groups

SOUTH BEND — The New Hope Support Group will meet the first and third Tuesday of each month from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood. This interdenominational group is for divorced, widows, widowers and anyone suffering grief due to the loss of a loved one. The group meets in a large area of the basement level of the church. MISHAWAKA — Michiana Hematology Oncology will hold its monthly Breast Cancer Survivor Support Group meeting from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 27 at 5340 Holy Cross Parkway. This month’s guest speaker is Dr. Melissa Gillette, genetic counselor at Saint Joseph Health System, presenting “Genetics in Cancer.” All are welcome including current patients, family members and cancer support advocates.
