HBO on Monday released the first trailer for a documentary on the life of enthusiast, racer, stunt driver, and TV personality Jessi Combs. The trailer comes three years after Combs was killed while attempting to break the land speed record for women.

The Fastest Woman On Earth follows Combs' journey to stardom in the automotive world, speaking with those who were close to her about her life as a fabricator, builder, and successful driver in a male-dominated space. Combs was the first woman to participate in "The Race of Gentlemen." She was also the first woman to place at King of the Hammers and the host of Velocity channel's All Girls Garage.

Combs was killed in August 2019 while piloting a jet-powered car in the Alvord Desert, a dry lake bed in Oregon popular with land-speed record attempts. A mechanical failure at nearly 550 mph was the official cause of the crash, according to police. She was posthumously awarded the title of world's fastest woman by Guinness a year after the incident.

The Fastest Woman On Earth will be available to stream on HBO Max on October 20.
