HBO Max New Releases: The Best Shows & Movies to Watch in August

We always keep an eye out for the latest Netflix lineup, and, of course, everything coming to Amazon Prime. But now, we're happy to report that HBO Max is offering a sneak peek at its new releases.

The streaming service has released a list of exciting titles that will be added to its database in August 2022. There are multiple classic titles, like Charlie's Angels, Little Women, Mystic Pizza and The Notebook.

There’s also a slew of HBO Max originals set to debut this month, like The Princess and House of Ho. Oh, and how could we forget about the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon?

1. 'Sweet Life: Los Angeles'

  • Premiere date: August 4

This series shows viewers what it’s like to be young, Black and ambitious. (And season two is dropping on August 4.)

2. 'The Princess'

  • Premiere date: August 13

If you loved Spencer, you need to watch this all-new documentary about the life and legacy of Princess Diana.

3. 'House of the Dragon'

  • Premiere date: August 21

The Game of Thrones prequel series is set in the Westeros universe, but it takes place 200 years before the events in GoT. It offers a glimpse of the House of Targaryen before they lost the throne.

4. 'House of Ho'

  • Premiere date: August 25

House of Ho is returning for season 2, which follows a Vietnamese American family who are living the “American Dream” in Houston, Texas.

5. 'Selena + Chef'

  • Premiere date: TBA

Selena Gomez’s popular cooking show is returning for season 4 sometime this month, though HBO hasn’t released an official premiere date. The series documents the actress as she learns how to cook from some of the world’s most renowned chefs.
