Hayley Kiyoko Is Writing a “Girls Like Girls” Young Adult Novel

Hayley Kiyoko is embarking on a new adventure. The singer and actress announced that she will be writing her debut novel, Girls Like Girls. Based on Hayley's viral 2015 hit single of the same name, Hayley's debut novel will document a coming-of-age romance and will be released on May 30, 2023.

Hayley dished on her debut book in a statement obtained by JustJaredJr. "Ever since I released the music video for ‘Girls Like Girls‘ [in 2015], it has been a dream of mine to tell the whole story of Coley and Sonya," Hailey said. "I am so excited to explore these characters further in a novel — to really get inside their heads and their hearts, and to take readers on their quest for love. I am forever grateful for my fans who continue to champion me and help fuel my passion for storytelling."

She even took to Twitter to celebrate the big news. "Building our second story, ripping all your floors out. I’m very honored to announce Girls Like Girls the novel coming next Summer. This is so special to me and I can’t wait to share it with you all Available for pre-order NOW!"

The Panorama singer added, "I’ve been so overwhelmed by the love and excitement for the Girls like Girls novel the kindness to purchase for others, you are my community I’m so proud of. Thank you! I love you all so much."
