Hayesville Lions gets update on offerings at Brookside Park in Ashland

The Hayesville Lions Club met April 18 at Hayesville United Methodist Church with Missy Dropsey giving the group "Local Area Things to do."

She is a second grade teacher at Hillsdale Schools and also works at the Bell Stores and Brookside Pool in Ashland. Seniors can swim free at the pool 10-11 a.m. Monday and Saturday and noon-1 p.m. Sunday. The pool is heated.

The pool has several family events such as Big Splash, some night swims and glow sticks. Two weeks every summer swimming lessons are offered for $20. The pool opens the Saturday before Memorial Day.

Brookside has miniature golf, and anyone who gets a hole in one is given free ice cream. There are tennis courts, shuffleboard and the Myers Memorial Bandshell. Brookside West has a dog park.

She had bandshell brochures and papers on the 19 county parks. At Freer Field there will be an art class and Zumba.

The Hayesville Club has raffle tickets for guns for sale at Fin Feather Fur and by members.

A business meeting will be held at is Schucks on Thursday. May 4 is officer training school at Trinity Lutheran Church. May 16 is the dinner meeting at the Conservation Farm with a potluck at 6:30 p.m. A tour of the house will be given first.

June 27 is installation of officers at Stone Lutheran Church.
