Haunting of Hill House star lands next lead movie role

Haunting of Hill House star Oliver Jackson-Cohen has landed his next lead movie role in Lior Geller's upcoming World War II blockbuster.

As reported by Variety, the actor will star alongside Grantchester's Jeremy Neumark Jones in The World Will Tremble.

The drama will tell the true story of a group of prisoners who escaped from the Third Reich's first Nazi death camp, Chełmno.

Jackson-Cohen is set to play Solomon Wiener, while Neumark Jones will take on the role of Michael Podchlebnik — the two real-life prisoners who exposed the truth of the barbarity they experienced.

"The film focuses on a moment of bravery and hope which coincides with our aim at Lorton to produce powerful, socially relevant content and there's nothing more powerful or socially relevant currently than Michael and Solomon's story," said Arthur Landon, who is producing the film on behalf of Lorton Entertainment.

"Bringing history to life with previously unheard stories and hearing the testimony of those who lived through it is a humbling privilege."

The World Will Tremble boasts a star-studded cast including Andor's Anton Lesser, David Kross, Dunkirk star Michael Fox, Charlie MacGechan, Michael Epp, Danny Scheinmann, Tim Bergmann and George Lenz.

Ahead of filming, Geller spent a decade researching the tragedies that took place at the camp — with the help of Podchlebnik's son Yakov Peled, who granted the director his family's blessing before his death earlier this year.

"The enduring story of Solomon and Michael, who attempted the impossible in an effort to expose the Nazi horrors, serves as a cautionary reminder, emphasising the significance of hope, survival and the critical role of bearing witness," said Geller on the film's importance.

"It is a tremendous honour to share this story with the world, especially now."

Jackson-Cohen is also starring opposite Jenna Coleman in upcoming thriller Jackdaw. The crime drama, which follows a former motorcross champion as he searches for his kidnapped brother, has recently debuted with a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The World Will Tremble doesn't have a release date yet.
