Updated

Harry Styles was reportedly the victim of a robbery in London on Valentine’s Day, according to British tabloid the Mirror and Us Weekly.

An unidentified source told the Mirror that the British pop star — in town for Tuesday’s Brit Awards, where he arrived wearing a black ribbon on his lapel said to be in honor of his late love interest, Caroline Flack — that Styles handed over cash after being approached by a knife-wielding assailant. The alleged incident is said to have taken place shortly before midnight on Friday, Feb. 14 near Hampstead Heath, where the 26-year-old singer reportedly owns a home.

“He actually played it pretty cool, quickly giving the assailant cash, keeping himself and the guy calm and getting the situation over with,” the source claimed.

"Understandably though it left him very shaken up afterwards.”

Styles’s representative did not immediately respond to Yahoo’s request for comment. A spokesman for London’s Metropolitan Police confirmed to Yahoo that officers were investigating a report of a robbery at knifepoint in the area, but was careful to avoid identifying the alleged victim beyond referring to him as a “man in his 20s.”

“Police are investigating reports of a knife point robbery in Spaniards Road, Hampstead,” the Met spokesman shared. “Officers were contacted on Saturday {Feb. 15] regarding the incident which happened at [11:50 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14].

”It was reported that a man in his 20s was approached by another man and threatened him with a knife. The victim was not injured, however cash was taken from him. No arrests and inquiries are ongoing.”
