'Harry Potter' Star Warwick Davis' Wife Samantha Dead at 53

Warwick Davis, who is well-known for roles in franchises like Harry Potter and Star Wars, confirmed the tragic news that his wife Samantha has died. She was 53. A cause of death has not been shared.

"My wife and soul-mate, best friend. Devoted mother, My favourite human. My most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career, has passed," Davis began his emotional statement. "Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family."

He went on to describe his late wife as a "unique character," and "the most open, warm person I have ever known," adding that she had a "wicked sense of humour," and always looked at the "sunny side" of things.

"She instilled such confidence in me. With her by my side, I was sure I could achieve anything. It was like having a super-power," wrote Davis, before mentioning her work founding the charing Little People UK and declaring that "her love, warmth and generosity will be her legacy."

The actor also briefly mentioned that Samantha dealt with mobility issues over the past few years, but gave no further details about her death.

Samantha and Davis' two kids, Annabelle and Harrison, also wrote a beautiful message in light of their mother's passing, calling her "the kindest, most inspirational and loving Mumma we could of wished for."

"Her love and happiness has carried us through our whole lives, and will be what carries us forward now. Everything we do, we do for her," their message concluded.

Davis and Samantha first met on the set of the 1988 film Willow. Samantha was also an actor, and the couple also starred together in Leprechaun, while the whole family joined Davis in an appearance in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 2011. Samantha and Davis got married in 1991 and celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary last summer.
