We Are Happy To Report That Cinnamon Toast Has Not Lost Its Nostalgic Charm

Cinnamon toast holds a lot of nostalgia as an easy breakfast or a simple midday snack. It’s a comforting dish that is easy for kids to prepare and enjoy without making a mess. To make our best cinnamon toast, you’ll need to toast the bread first so it’s crisp but still tender in the center, then immediately slather it with butter and generously sprinkle it with cinnamon sugar. Some of the butter and cinnamon sugar will melt into the nooks and crannies, while other parts will still be richer and a bit crunchy from the sugar. Salted butter ensures that all the flavors pop, but unsalted butter works almost just as well (if you use salted butter, just skip the pinch of salt). If you have a toaster, you can skip baking the toast in the oven and just toast the bread to your desired doneness and finish the toast.

For fun variations, swap out the white bread with another type of bread. Try cinnamon raisin, whole wheat toast, or even a sourdough slice. Or, sandwich a large scoop of ice cream in between two slices for a cinnamon toast ice cream sandwich!
