Hannah Waddingham Reunites With Juno Temple, Phil Dunster and More Ted Lasso Stars in Apple TV+ Christmas Special — Watch Trailer

Those who feared we may never see Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple together on screen again were just given one more reason to watch Waddingham’s forthcoming holiday spectacular.

Apple TV+ on Wednesday released a trailer for Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas, which reunites Waddingham with Ted Lasso castmates Phil Dunster (Jamie Tartt), Nick Mohammed (Nathan Shelley), Kola Bokinni (Isaac McAdoo), Billy Harris (Colin Hughes), James Lance (Trent Crimm) and, finally, Temple (Keeley Jones), who gives her BFF quite a scare when she jumps out and proclaims that she’s a “Christmas miracle.”

The trailer also features appearances by Luke Evans, Leslie Odom Jr., Sam Ryder, the English National Opera and the London Gay Men’s Chorus.

Described as a “musical extravaganza,” Home for Christmas promises to “deliver a captivating night to remember, featuring dazzling performances and musical numbers from the Olivier-nominated actress, as well as special surprise guests” who are not being revealed ahead of air. Along the way, Waddingham “shares her personal journey to this magical moment with anecdotes and memories about her own holiday experiences” and performs festive classics with an 18-piece band.

The special begins streaming Wednesday, Nov. 22 — aka Thanksgiving Eve — and the accompanying soundtrack is available to pre-save. The first single, “What Christmas Means to Me,” is available right now.

Waddingham recently wrapped a three-season run as Rebecca Welton on the above-mentioned Ted Lasso — and though the Jason Sudeikis-led comedy may be done, the Emmy winner previously indicated that she was excited about the prospect of a spinoff focused on a Richmond women’s club, which Keeley pitched Rebecca in Ted Lasso‘s May 31 finale.

“When Juno and I read that, we didn’t know how we wanted to convey our excitement about the potential of that,” Waddingham said in August. “[In the script] I was meant to look up from the folder and just be like, ‘Oh, it’s on.’ But we couldn’t contain our excitement. So if you look at it, we do have a moment of ‘Aghhhh!'”

The unofficial series ender saw Ted return to Kansas to take a more active role in Henry’s life. Back in Richmond, Roy took over as head coach; Nate returned as assistant coach; Beard married Jane; Jamie reconnected with his dad; Keeley built back up her public relations firm with Barbara; Trent published The Richmond Way; and Rebecca reconnected with the Dutchman and his daughter. Afterward, Keeley presented her BFF with the idea of an all-female club.

“The hard part is the fact that unless I play her, Rebecca doesn’t exist anymore. And I want to see her through,” Waddingham said of a potential offshoot. “If you are left at a moment with the character, you want to see them through that moment. Does it work with her and the Dutchman? Does she have a female league? I mean, I hope so! It feels like it’s finished but not finished, because none of our lives are.”
