Haitian migrant dies aboard U.S. Coast Guard vessel after being stopped with 53 others
A 40-year-old Haitian migrant died on board a U.S. Coast Guard vessel after the Coast Guard stopped the boat she was traveling on with more than 50 other migrants just a few miles off the Palm Beach County shoreline, officials said.
On Monday, the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Nathan Bruckenthal intercepted the boat about two miles off Lake Worth Inlet. The boat was carrying 54 Haitian migrants, the Coast Guard said. It’s unclear what time the ship was stopped.
