Loki star Wunmi Mosaku has also been added to the cast, which also includes Delroy Lindo, Jack O'Connell and Michael B Jordan.

Little is known about the production, with insiders (per The Hollywood Reporter) claiming it will be set in Jim Crow-era South America and its narrative will include both supernatural elements and vampires. There's also been some speculation that Jordan is playing a dual role as twin brothers.

Coogler wrote the script for the movie, which was subject to a fierce bidding war in January. His production company Proximity Media will be producing alongside Zinzi Coogle and Sev Ohanian.

It has a release date set for March 7, 2025, though it's unclear whether this also applies to the UK and could be subject to change.

Steinfeld brought her fan-favourite Hawkeye character Kate Bishop back for The Marvels last year, starring alongside Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L Jackson and Zawe Ashton.

She is also due to reprise her voice role as Gwen Stacey in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Steinfeld's experience in Marvel may be evident in Coogler's new movie, with the actor previously talking to Digital Spy about how her previous roles inspire subsequent projects.

"I always feel like every experience I have ultimately, in one way or another, influences the future work that I do," she told us.

"I think that there are parts of each experience that I have that I take with me into everything that I do.

"I do feel, though, so grateful to have the opportunity to step back into this character (Gwen Stacy) because you get that feeling of picking up where you left off and fall back into this world and it's all right there."
