About Aaron Brooks

Brooks, a 2018 North Hagerstown graduate, is seeded No. 1 in the 197-pound weight class after winning his first three titles at 184 pounds. He’s 17-0 this season with 16 bonus-point victories and 84-3 for his college career.

There have been only five four-time NCAA champions, and none from Penn State, although the Nittany Lions’ Carter Starocci also could join that short list this weekend at 174 pounds.

Brooks, who won four Maryland 4A-3A state titles for the Hubs, became a four-time Big Ten champion earlier this month at the University of Maryland’s Xfinity Center, where he was named the outstanding wrestler of the tournament as well as the conference’s wrestler of the year.

Penn State, which has won 10 of the last 12 NCAA team titles, is the favorite again this weekend.
