H.S. ROUNDUP: Adryanna Turner scores 200th career goal for Upper Cape girls lacrosse

Senior captain Adryanna Turner (five goals) surpassed 200 career goals for the Upper Cape girls lacrosse team, which is highest in the Rams girls lacrosse program, as they beat Old Colony 14-7 on Friday.

Alaina Hines had four goal and was a contributor with a near perfect draw percentage, Jessie Girouard added three goals, and Emma King added two goals for Upper Cape (9-2). Hayley King played well on defense with several forced turnovers and cleared the ball well to the midfield.

Girls Lacrosse

Falmouth Academy 12, Sturgis West 3: The Mariners (3-5) picked up the win over the Navigators (2-4). Faye McGuire (five goals, one draw control), Susanna Lowell (two goals, one assist, two draw controls), Amelia Russell Schaffer (three goals), and Natalie Hurlbut (two goals, four draw controls) led the offense for Falmouth Academy.

St. John Paul II 12, Nauset 11: The Lions (8-4) have caught fire with five straight wins as they edged out a win over the Warriors (7-4). Akira Umbrello (six goals, one assist) and Sophie Philbrick (three goals, two assists) led the offense for JPII, while Mia Curley (tow goals, one assist) and Emma Tucker (one goal, one assist) also contributed. Kiera Nakachi made 16 saves in goal, while Lili Crofford, Anna Corsi, Marlo Jumper, Winnie Hatch, Charlotte Sturgis, Meah Dalrymple, Emma Tucker played well on defense.

Julia Kipperman scored six goals, Sienna Reeves added three goals, while Zoe Labdon and Coral Punch each chipped in one goal for Nauset.

Monomoy 10, Martha’s Vineyard 5: The Sharks (6-5) have won three of their last four games as they beat the Vineyarders (4-5). Karah Deveau (five goals), Tessa Grodziki (four goals, one assist), Abrielle Long (one goal), and Illiana Bebeddeel (two assists) led the offense for Monomoy. The defense was held down by Victoria Letendre’s seven saves, Grodziki’s four caused turnovers, and Karlie Montiero’s and Lucy Gates who each had three caused turnovers. Abrielle Long and Susannah Brown each had a team high of six ground balls.

Boys Lacrosse

Sandwich 7, Plymouth South 6(OT): Daniel Oman (two goals) scored the winning goal in overtime for the Blue Knights (9-2). Cole Rodgers (three goals, one assist), Jack Connolly (one goal, two assists) and Luke Rodgers (one goal) also contributed on offense for Sandwich. Shane Corcoran had 13 saves in goal, while Devin Mahoney had six ground balls.

Martha’s Vineyard 8, Monomoy 6: The Vineyarders (3-7) handed the Sharks (9-2) their second loss of the season.

The Sharks offense was led by Tamer Khalil (three goals, two assists), Jed Zimmerman (two goals), Seamus St. Pierre (one goal), Owen Ramler (two assists), and Aidan Stone (one assist). The defense led by Max Barrett, Braeden Darling, Max Ramler, and Jackson Morneau, while Jake Giorgio had 13 saves in goal.

Bridgewater-Raynham 6, Nauset 5: The Warriors (5-6) fell just short on the road. Joey Berardi had two goals, Ryder Holm, Riley Meehan and Logan Poulin each had a goal, and Oscar Esher, Sawyer McCutchen, and Colby Smith each dished out one assist for Nauset.

Cape Cod Academy 15, Mashpee 12: The Seahawks (6-2) have won six of their last seven games as they beat the Falcons (4-8). Dominic Matteodo had five goals and one assist and Maxx Smith (four goals, three assists) led Mashpee, while Jack Balfour (two goals) and Bryce Clark (one goal) also contributed.

Tri-County Reg. 8, Cape Tech 1: The Crusaders fall to 0-10.

Old Colony 17, Upper Cape 1: The Rams (5-6) have lost three straight games.

Girls Tennis

Falmouth 4, Dennis-Yarmouth 1: The Clippers (3-6) won their first road match as they beat the Dolphins (0-9). Maia Ledwell beat Olivia Boyer in first singles (6-1, 6-3), while Alexis Christian defeated Tristin Bradford in second singles (6-0, 6-3) for Falmouth. Kelsang Gurung defeated Charlotte Lucas in third singles (6-1, 6-1) for D-Y.

Marcella DePaula and Sadie Inman beat Willana Thompson and Maddy Stewart in first doubles (6-4, 6-1), while Phoebe Hodgson and Jaylynn Fernandez defeated Willasia Thompson and Kaitlin Clarke in second doubles (6-0, 6-0) for Falmouth.

Cape Cod Academy 5, Sturgis West 0: The Seahawks (7-3) have won four straight matches as they beat the Navigators (1-3). Lili Shanahan defeated Brodie Gerlach in first singles (4-6, 6-0, 7-6 (7-2)), Julia McCaffrey beat Priscilla Lanca in second singles (6-4, 6-4), and Jemma Meadows won third singles (6-0, 6-2) over Charlotte Buckley for Cape Cod Academy.

Yoana Dokleva and Molly Lowery defeated Samantha VanBeber and Neve Harden (6-1, 6-0), while Kaleigh Howe and Meegan Morey beat Julia DeMedeiros and MacKenzie Griffin in second doubles (6-1, 3-6, (11-9)).

St. John Paul II 4, Sturgis East 1: The Lions (12-0) remain unbeaten with their 12th straight win as they beat the Storm (1-6).

Monomoy 4, Martha’s Vineyard 1: The Sharks (6-4) have won four of their last five matches as they beat the Vineyarders (5-5). Tatiana Malone defeated Laina Dubin in first singles (7-5, 6-3), Lily Gould beat Leah Thomson in second singles (6-4, 6-1), and Hanadi Rezk woin third singles (2-6, 6-1, 6-4) over Zoe Treitman for Monomoy. Darcy Addison and Karina Khalsa defeated Ellie Pennington and Sophia Balsas in first doubles (6-3, 7-6 (0)).

Ella Moran and Clementine Zeender beat Sophia Sarabia and Madison Mahfouz in second doubles (6-1, 6-2) for Martha's Vineyard.

Nauset 5, Barnstable 0: The Warriors (6-3) won their third straight match as they beat the Red Hawks (2-7). Nicole Boyce defeated Sophia Tynchynsyn in first singles (6-0, 6-0), Anjali O'Brien won second singles (6-1, 6-1) over Ava Pryzgoda, and Sophia Votteler beat Lily Case in third singles (6-4, 2-6, (10-3)) for Nauset.

Faye Adams and Elexa Malouin defeated Kate Condinho and Dana Edwards in first doubles (6-2, 6-0), while Haley Jackson and Callie Murphy beat Emily Thompson and Gianna DeVoe in second doubles (6-0, 6-4).

Nantucket 5, Rising Tide 0: The Whalers (5-2) have won five of their last six matches.

Boys Tennis

Barnstable 3, Nauset 2: The Red Hawks (8-2) picked up the win over the Warriors (5-3). Brennan Riley defeated Lucas Wilson in first singles (6-0, 6-2), while Connor O'Reilly beat Will Murphy in third singles (7-6(5), 4-6, 6-1) for Barnstable. Mike Higginbotham and Dean Cordeiro defeated Salvi Cacciola and Tom Foley in first doubles (6-0, 4-6, 7-5)

Jason White defeated Harry Baroni in second singles (6-2, 6-1), while Owen O'Reilly and Soren Jones-Carlson beat Andy Coombs and Thomas Berger in second doubles (7-6 (12) 7-6 (6)) for Nauset.

Martha’s Vineyard 4, Monomoy 1: The Vineyarders (8-1) remain unbeaten on the road (5-0) as they beat the Sharks (4-1). Zak Potter beat Ryan Casey in first singles (6-2, 6-2), while Caleb Dubin defeated Gavin McDonnell in second singles (6-3, 6-1) for Martha's Vineyard. Roman Pavluchenko beat Kurt Kleeman in third singles (6-4, 6-1) for Monomoy.

Otis Forrester and Tommy Flynn defeated Connor Francis and Paul Carlson in first doubles (6-1, 6-3), while Henry Wansiewicz and Roger Schilling beat Ethan Seufert and Blake Noonan in second doubles (4-6, 6-2, 6-2) for the Vineyarders.

Falmouth 3, Dennis-Yarmouth 2: The Clippers (4-5) have won two of their last three matches as they picked up the win over the Dolphins (2-8). Thomas Ghossein beat Max Mingo in first singles (7-6(7-4), 6-5), while Jack Beardsley defeated London Richter in third singles (7-5, 6-2) for Falmouth. Henry Stoermer and Leo Ostruff won second doubles (5-7, 6-1, 6-1) over Ryan Clarke and Aidan Karras.

Colin Caron defeated Quintin Hefferan in second singles (6-0, 6-4), while Mike O'Reilly and Oscar Turek beat Sam Collins and Jacob Faidell in second doubles (3-6, 6-4, 6-1) for D-Y.

Nantucket 4, Rising Tide 1: The Whalers (5-3) snapped a two match slide with the road win.

Softball

Monomoy 7, Falmouth 4: The Sharks (9-1) avenged their only loss of the season, which was to the Clippers (7-3), as they beat them in Falmouth.

Rylin Briggs pitched six innings, allowed five hits and struck out 11, and was 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs for Falmouth.Anna Bennett pitching one innings and allowed no hits, and struck out one. Molly Belfiore finished 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI, while Kaylee Shaw was 2-for-3 with a double and one run.

Norwell 13, Sandwich 5: Seventh grader Abby McCartin pitched her first varsity game and struck out eight and had a hit for the Lady Knights (2-8). Mia Consalvi, Cece Donovan and Clodagh Coughlan combined for six hits for Sandwich.

Dennis-Yarmouth 16, Barnstable 8: The Dolphins (4-7) snapped a six game slide with the win over the Red Hawks (0-9). Alexa Buron led in the circle for as she struck out five over five innings, while Carly Phillips returned form injury and finished the game on the mound for her first varsity appearance for DY. Phillips surrendered one hit, no runs, and struck out two over two innings for D-Y. Lily Leandre (RBI), Chicoine (two RBIs, double, two runs), and Alexa Barboza each collected two hits, while Shae McSharry, Patsy Newell, and Chicoine played well on defense.

Upper Cape 9, Cape Tech 8: The Rams (5-5) have won tow of their last three as they beat the Crusaders (2-7). Meadow Diede started off the scoring with a two-run home run, while Jaelynn Harraden scored the go ahead run to lead the 6th inning off, followed by another 2-run home run by Meadow Diede for UpperCape. Taysia Lopes had 11 strikeouts, Amya Irving threw out four runners, and Ivey Patton-Salsman caught a pop fly with the bases loaded that ended the game.

Nauset 12, Sturgis 9: The Warriors (5-6) have won back-to-back games for the first time this season as they beat Sturgis (3-5).

Baseball

Falmouth 7, Martha’s Vineyard 0: The Clippers (4-7) have found their bats with their third straight win as they shutout the Vineyarders (3-4). Josh Matta pitched a complete game shutout as he allowed four hits struck. out six for Falmouth. Jack Frostholm went 2-for-4 (one RBI, one run), Tre’chaun Days was 2-for-5 (two runs scored), and Trey Cardoza (two RBIs) and Brody Palmer each finished 2-for-3.

Barnstable 8, Dennis-Yarmouth 1: Jack Tarbox pitched a complete game, allowed one run (unearned) and struck out seven for the Red Hawks (9-2) as they beat the Dolphins (5-8). Sladen Johnson went 3-for-4 (one RBIs, one stoeln base, two runs) and fell a home run short of a cycle, while Josh Hunter was 2-for-3 (three RBIs, one SB, and one run scored) for Barnstable.

Upper Cape 5, Cape Tech 3: The Rams (12-2) recorded the road win over the Crusaders (5-6). Starter Jared Coates pitched six innings, allowed two runs, struck out four and walked one for Upper Cape, while Julian Christopher pitched the 7th inning for the save. Nate Smith and Harrison Gargan each had RBI hits, Mitchell Kirkland had two hits, and Patrick Acord had two walks, one hit and scored two runs for the Rams.

Monomoy 10, Rising Tide 0: The Sharks (7-5) have won four of their last five games with their third shutout win of the season.

St. John Paul II 13, Nantucket 3: The Lions (8-4) have won five of their last six games as they beat the Whalers (1-10).

Norwell 10, Sandwich 2: The Blue Knights (7-4) gave up eight runs in the 3rd inning.
