H-E-B’s Plano opening date announced, its fourth grocery store in Dallas-Fort Worth

Another H-E-B store is set to open in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

The Texas-based grocery chain will open its Plano location in just over two weeks on Wednesday, Nov. 2. The announcement follows the grand opening of the H-E-B in Frisco last month. The Plano store at 6001 Preston Road will open at 6 a.m.

While it may not be the closest location for Fort Worth residents, the Plano store’s opening signals H-E-B’s growing expansion trend across North Texas.

In early August, H-E-B confirmed it will open a grocery store in Mansfield, about 20 minutes south of Fort Worth, which will be the first H-E-B in Tarrant County. H-E-B owns about 28 acres at the Mansfield site, on the corner of U.S. 287 and Broad Street. The groundbreaking will take place in January or February.

The date of the Mansfield store’s groundbreaking likely won’t be announced until after Christmas, according to spokesperson Mabrie Jackson.

H-E-B also owns land in Alliance. The company has not announced official plans for that site.

The Plano H-E-B will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Customers can begin scheduling curbside pickup for the Plano store two days in advance of its opening. The 118,000-square-foot store will feature a full-service H-E-B Pharmacy with drive-thru, gas station and car wash, True Texas BBQ restaurant with drive-thru, curbside pickup and home delivery service.
