Who is the H.S. Athlete of the Week for April 8-14?
Another week of high school sports action has come and gone in the Greater Taunton area.
Last week, Dighton-Rehoboth boys volleyball continued one of their best starts to a season in years while Taunton baseball suffered its first loss to rival Franklin in a state title rematch but bounced back against Mansfield. A Taunton girls lacrosse player hit a career milestone in a local showdown against Dighton-Rehoboth while Taunton boys lacrosse earned its first Hockomock win since returning to varsity status, Taunton and Dighton-Rehoboth softball continued their strong starts and both Bridgewater-Raynham and Bristol-Plymouth scored some impressive wins.
The Taunton Daily Gazette Athlete of the Week for April 1-7 is Dighton-Rehoboth softball's Edy Latour, receiving 49% of the vote while Bridgewater-Raynham girls lacrosse's Emily Long came in second with 15% and Taunton boys lacrosse's Kevin Araujo received 14% to finish third.

Cam Wilbur, Bristol-Plymouth
Wilbur went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs against Diman.
Jordan Castro, Dighton-Rehoboth
Castro went 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs against Case.
Softball
Bella Bourque, Taunton
Bourque went 3-for-4 with four runs and three RBIs against Canton.
Lily Berman, Bridgewater-Raynham
Berman had four hits, a pair of runs and an RBI against Plymouth North.
Shelby Estrella, Bristol-Plymouth
Estrella went 4-for-4 with four RBIs against Nauset.
Haleigh Kelley, Dighton-Rehoboth
Kelley went 3-for-4 with a home run, a pair of runs and four RBIs against Middleboro.
Boys Lacrosse
Oren Cullins, Taunton
Cullins made 20 saves against Attleboro.
Brendan Rosher, Bridgewater-Raynham
Rosher had a hat trick against Old Rochester.
Andrew Flanagan, Bristol-Plymouth
Flanagan had four goals against Westport.
Jack Swan, Dighton-Rehoboth
Swan had a hat trick and four assists against Taunton.
Girls Lacrosse
Cali Melo, Taunton
Melo had five goals, including her 100th career goal, as well as three assists and six draws against Dighton-Rehoboth.
Emily Keefe, Bridgewater-Raynham
Keefe had five goals against New Bedford.
Karina Bosco, Dighton-Rehoboth
Bosco had six goals, four draws and an assist against Taunton.
Girls Tennis
Ava Alves, Taunton
Alves won third singles 6-1, 6-0 against Canton.
Nicole Kimball, Bridgewater-Raynham
Kimball won first singles 6-0, 6-0 against Dartmouth.
Boys Track and Field
Dmitrius Shearrion, Taunton
Shearrion won both the 100 meter with a personal best time of 0:10.5 and the 200 meter with a time of 0:21.5 in a dual meet against Franklin.
Girls Track and Field
Emersyn DePonte, Taunton
DePonte won the 800 meter with a time of 2:28.8 in a dual meet against Franklin.
Camden Strandberg, Bridgewater-Raynham
Stranberg won the mile and high jump in a dual meet against Dartmouth.
Boys Volleyball
Travis Johnson, Taunton
Johnson had 13 kills against Quincy.
Ian Hoskins, Dighton-Rehoboth
Hoskins had 17 kills against Nipmuc.
