Taylor Sheridan is not a creator to sit on his laurels. Since his first television show, Yellowstone, became a mega-hit, the Sheridan universe has taken off, packed not only with prequels and spin-offs of the original show, but with whole new creative worlds to explore. As of this writing, Sheridan has nearly a dozen shows in some stage of development, with rumors of more appearing all the time. So whether you're trying to stay up to date on the latest entry in the Yellowstone universe or you just can't get enough of Sheridan's creations on your screen, here's your guide to all of his TV shows.

Yellowstone

WATCH NOW

Sheridan's original hit, Yellowstone centers on the Dutton family who own and run the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Over the years, the show's become a fan favorite for its Succession-esque family in-fighting, edge of your seat action, and dynamic natural beauty (not to mention the occasional dose of romance from everyone's favorite couple, Beth and Rip.)

In May 2023, it was revealed that the second half of season five—currently set to premiere in November, though the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes may impact that date—will end the series.

WATCH NOW

The first sister-show in the Yellowstone universe, this prequel (starring Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Sam Elliott) tells the story of the Dutton family ancestors long before they founded their namesake Montana ranch. In it, the spirited teenager Elsa attempts to travel to Oregon by wagon train with her family to start a new life, but as so many settlers discovered during westward expansion, there are plenty of troubles awaiting them on the trail ahead.

It was previously confirmed in 2022 that more episodes of the show were being ordered, but thus far, no additional information about when or what form those episodes might take has been announced.

WATCH NOW

The latest entry into the Yellowstone universe stars Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford as a new generation of the Dutton legacy. In it, Montana's most relentless ranching family has to face down the challenges of the Great Depression, social upheaval, and drama with their fellow ranchers to try and keep their homestead alive.

It has been renewed for a second season, though when that will materialize is not yet clear. The show was set to go into production on season 2 in June 2023, however the strikes of both the television writers and actors guilds have delayed filming indefinitely.

6666

First announced in 2021, this long-gestating spin-off of Yellowstone remains very much up in the air. The show centers on the 6666 (pronounced "four-sixes") ranch in Texas, "where world class cowboys are born and made," and was originally set to debut in 2023. However, in a June 2023 interview with THR, Sheridan apparently backtracked about the series, saying "That, for a number of reasons, needs a unique level of special care because this is a real place with real families working here. You have to respect the lineage. I’ve told [the studio] to be patient."

It was originally speculated that fan-favorite Yellowstone character Jimmy would appear on the show, potentially along with other characters from the Montana ranch as the original Yellowstone comes to a conclusion at the end of season 5.

Mayor of Kingstown

WATCH NOW

Starring Jeremy Renner as the morally gray fixer and all-around jack of all trades Mike McLusky, Mayor of Kingstown marked Sheridan's first television series unrelated to Yellowstone. It takes place in Kingstown, Michigan, a town dominated by the local prison and the corrupt mechanisms that are embedded in the prison industrial complex.

In September 2023, Paramount+ confirmed that the show will be returning for a third season.

WATCH NOW

This mobster-gone-country show marks Sylvester Stallone's first foray into television. In it, the Rocky star plays Dwight Manfredi, an aging mafioso who finds himself relegated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, attempting to develop a thriving criminal enterprise, and get his life back together after 25 years in prison.

Not long after it began airing in 2022, it was announced that the show would be returning for a second season, though no dates have been revealed.

Lioness

Inspired by a real-life CIA program, the show features Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira, LaMonica Garrett, and James Jordan as members of an undercover team focused on bringing down terrorist organizations from within, and also includes appearance by big names like Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves

Inspired by the real life story of legendary lawman Bass Reeves, who became the west's first Black US Marshal, the show stars David Oyelowo in the titular role. At various points the show has operated under the working titles Bass Reeves and 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, implying a tie to the Yellowstone prequel, but it has since been revealed to be an anthology series.

Alongside Oyelowo, the cast will include Donald Sutherland, Lauren E. Banks, Dennis Quaid, and Yellowstone's Mo Brings Plenty. No official release date has been revealed yet.

Land Man

Based on the podcast Boomtown, this west Texas-set show will reportedly be "an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires that are fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics."

Billy Bob Thornton is set to star in the series as Tommy Norris, a crisis manager for an oil company, with Ali Larter, 1923's Michelle Randolph, and Jacob Lofland joining the cast as his wife and children.

The show was expected to begin production in 2023, prior to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
