Guernsey’s Jason Greenslade has won the men’s singles at the World Bowls Indoor Championships.

Greenslade beat Malaysia's Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple 6-5, 9-3 in the final in front of a home crowd in Guernsey.

The islander came from three shots down in the final end to win the first set.

He lost a three-shot lead early in the second set before recovering to win 9-3 after six ends

He is the first islander to win a singles title at the event - which has been held annually since 2022 - following on from Alison Merrien who won mixed pairs gold two years ago.

Earlier in the day Greenslade had beaten New Zealand’s 2018 outdoor World Champion of Champions Shannon McIlroy in a tiebreaker.

Having won the first set 5-2 Greenslade lost the second 4-3 before getting the winning shot with the final bowl to take the tiebreaker 1-0.
