This year’s theme, Powered by Connection, focuses on the profound impact that meaningful connections have on the well-being and health of older adults. Festivities also included a biodegradable balloon launch and guest entertainer Ken Groves.

"Senior citizens are redefining aging by staying active and engaging themselves in all aspects of community life…and we consider ourselves very blessed to have such a loyal and supportive community that supports the services and programs that we provide," says Shon Gress, executive director and CEO of Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center.

Established in 1963, Older Americans Month is celebrated every May. Led by a federal agency, the Administration for Community Living, Senior Citizens Day is a time to recognize older Americans' contributions, highlight aging trends, and reaffirm commitments to serving the older adults in our communities.
