CHICAGO — The Cleveland Guardians finally got their offense going in the Windy City. A couple of three-run innings Sunday afternoon helped the Guardians win 7-0 and avoid a three-game sweep by the White Sox.

Andrés Giménez and David Fry each homered for the Guardians, who have hit at least one home run in nine straight games.

But unlike the first three games of the series, when the Guardians only scored courtesy of home runs, they found other ways to score, too, on Mother's Day. Estevan Florial keyed two rallies with a triple and a double, and Cleveland also took advantage of three walks and some Chicago mistakes.

Florial opened the scoring with a triple in the third inning and then scored on Brayan Rocchio's sacrifice fly.

In the fourth, the Guardians scored three more with the help of two home runs. One pitch after fouling a ball off his knee and taking a few minutes to walk it off, Giménez drove a pitch out to right center for his second home run of the season.

Two batters later, Josh Naylor doubled and Fry followed with a two-run home run to left. It was Fry's third homer of the season.

The Guardians tacked on three more runs in the sixth thanks in big part to two errors and a passed ball by the White Sox. Both Chicago miscues came with two outs.

A walk to José Ramírez with one out started the improbable rally. A throwing error on an attempt to pick him off moved Ramirez to second and he went to third on ground out. David Fry was intentionally walked before Ramirez scored on Will Brennan's infield single which included a throwing error. Fry ended up at third and then scored on a passed ball. Florial's double scored Brennan with the inning's third run.

Cleveland starter Logan Allen benefited from all the offense. He pitched six scoreless innings before turning it over to the bullpen.

Allen gave up six hits and a walk, while striking out three.
