Grove City man killed in motorcycle-car crash on Columbus' NE Side identified

Columbus police have identified a Grove City man as the motorcyclist who died after being ejected during a collision with a car that crossed in front of him Monday on Columbus' Northeast Side.

Elliott Wilkins, 27, was driving the motorcycle, Columbus police said in a news release Thursday afternoon.

Wilkins was traveling eastbound Monday morning on Morse Road riding a 2022 Harley Davidson motorcycle when Nasteho Warsame, 47, who was traveling westbound on Morse past Cleveland Avenue, began turning left across the three eastbound lanes toward a private service road on the south side of Morse, according to a Columbus police accident report. The motorcycle and car collided, and Wilkins was ejected, police said.

Wilkins, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbus Division of Fire medics at 9:35 a.m. Monday. Warsame was transported in stable condition to Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, according to the accident report.

Warsame told police she was going 15 mph. Wilkins' speed was undetermined, according to the report.

The Columbus police Accident Investigation Unit continues to investigate the fatal crash.
