Grindhouse Video will close Knoxville store, but it's not all scary news for horror lovers

Knoxville horror fans are getting sad news during spooky season.

Grindhouse Video is closing its Knoxville store, but worldwide fans of the horror genre can still get the weirdest and wildest scary movies from the company's online store.

The brand's only physical store, located at 7212 Kingston Pike, will close Dec. 31, according to a social media post Oct. 28.

Grindhouse Video will still operate online at grindhousevideo.com, which will be down for maintenance and inventory in January 2024. It will relaunch in February.

The original store opened in 2014 in Tampa, Florida. Owner Mike Sandlin relocated the store in May 2022 to Knoxville to be closer to his daughter.

"Nine years ago the physical store opened in Tampa. It's been a good run but it's time to focus on the online store," the Facebook post said. "We would like to thank all of the local customers for supporting the physical store."
