The new episode of The Greg Cote Show podcast, out now, welcomes in a very special guest: Jimmy Johnson, national-championship coach with the Miami Hurricanes, two-time Super Bowl winner with the Dallas Cowboys, former Dolphins head coach, pro and college Hall of Famer, and for the past two decades a popular Fox NFL Sunday studio analyst.
Johnson has a new memoir out later this month called “Swagger: Super Bowls, Brass Balls and Footballs.” We have a in-depth conversation you won’t want to miss, one that veers from fun to emotional.
He talks about the new book, his UM years, replacing Tom Landry and dealing with Jerry Jones in Dallas, and replacing Don Shula and inheriting an aging Dan Marino. He also talks about the personal trials of his son Chad going through and eventually recovering from years of alcoholism, and the how the death of his mother changed his life’s perspective and led him to quit coaching.
Jimmy also shares thoughts on the Dolphins and Mike McDaniel, Mario Cristobal and the Canes and the state of both teams.
