King was the third-to-last pick of Saturday's seventh and final round.

College stats for Kalen King

King did not record an interception in 2023 after three the previous season. In 2022, he led the Big Ten in passes defended (21) and pass breakups (18) — both third nationally.

What kind of player is Kalen King?

Though smaller in stature, King works best when relying on his physicality around scrimmage as a tackler and a pass-route disruptor. He lacks the downfield speed and fluid hips to fly with top-end receivers, which can put his pass-defense positioning in jeopardy. He struggled glaringly in his biggest NFL-type test last season against Ohio State's Marvin Harrison, Jr.

Kalen King's best highlights at Penn State

He was never better than on Senior Day vs. Michigan State in 2022: a career-high five pass breakups and four solo tackles and a fourth-quarter interception.
