Over 20 vendors expected to set up for tonight’s Food Truck Friday in downtown Perry
More than 20 vendors offering a variety of foods from Mexican to Cuban to Greek are lined up for Food Truck Friday in historic downtown Perry.
The event is from 6-10 p.m.
Downtown restaurants, including an upscale bar as well as a wine merchant, also will be open during the event Friday. Additionally, shops generally stay open later.
The event features live entertainment from Cash’s Juke Joint, Damon L. Brown Saxophonist, and Kemp McArthur. Free family activities are offered, including Bubbles Over Georgia and face painting.
The theme is “Rock the Ribbon Night,” with participants encouraged to wear a ribbon in support of their favorite cause.
“We invite attendees to wear ribbons or apparel in the color of a cause that is meaningful to them, such as a pink ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness or a multi-colored puzzle pattern for Autism Awareness,” said Anya Turpin, the city’s special events coordinator.
Carroll, Ball, and Jernigan streets close at 3 p.m. for pedestrian traffic. The streets are expected re-open after the event ends.
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. Bag chairs are encouraged. No outside coolers or alcohol are allowed.
