Great Crossings Chapter honors Good Citizens Award winners

The Great Crossings Chapter NSDAR participated with the SAR in awarding Good Citizens Awards May 5 at the Trinity Reformed Church in Rockwood. Great Crossings Chapter Regent Susan Moon presented the awards.

The winners were Emily Conn, Turkeyfoot Valley Area School; Laurel Daniels, Meyersdale Area; Olivia Shunk, Salisbury – Elk Lick; and Aaron Show, Rockwood Area. The overall winner for the Chapter was Aaron Show of Rockwood.

The Good Citizenship Award recognizes and rewards high school seniors for qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism not only in their homes and schools, but also in their community. Each student is asked to write an essay on a predetermined topic. Applications are judged by people not affiliated with the school or the DAR Chapter.

Students receive a Good Citizens certificate, pin, and a monetary award from the Great Crossings Chapter.
