The grandparents of Lori Vallow’s son JJ, who was found dead on his stepfather’s property Tuesday, were finally able to get some answers after a months-long search for the missing boy.
Kay and Larry Woodcock visited Chad Daybell’s Salem, Idaho, house late Wednesday, a day after remains of JJ and sister Tylee were found buried in the backyard.
“That’s the scene where JJ was,” a teary-eyed Larry Woodcock told Fox 13. “My little man.”

JJ, who turned 8 in late May, and 17-year-old Tylee were last seen in September and have been the subjects of a headline-making investigation into Vallow and Daybell, who wed in November.
Vallow, 46, was arrested in February and has pleaded not guilty to two counts of desertion and nonsupport of dependent children, as well as lesser counts of resisting and obstructing an officer, solicitation of a crime and contempt.
Daybell, 51, was taken into custody Tuesday after police executed a search warrant for his property, where the remains of JJ and Tylee were discovered. He has been charged with two counts of destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence.
Both are being held on $1 million bails.
“I’m not coming in hostility in any way,” Larry Woodcock told Fox 13. “I come with trying to be the peacemaker, and that’s all I want. I just want to be a peacemaker. Let’s all get along here.”

It’s unclear what prompted the search at Daybell’s property Tuesday after months of a stalled investigation as Vallow refused to give any information about where her kids were from behind bars.
Details are still slim on the remains, but prosecutor Ron Wood said Wednesday that one of the bodies was buried in a “particularly egregious” manner.
Vallow, JJ and Tylee moved to Idaho from Phoenix in September, months after her husband, Charles, was fatally shot by her brother, Alex Cox, in what was ruled self-defense. There, she began a relationship with Daybell, a doomsday author.
But Vallow’s fascination with death began before Daybell.
In his February 2019 divorce filings, Charles Vallow accused her of becoming "infatuated at times obsessive about near death experiences and spiritual visions,” according to a filing obtained by Fox 10.
Other suspicious deaths surrounding the couple include Daybell’s wife, Tammy, who was found dead at home in October, Vallow’s brother, Cox, in December and Tylee’s father, Joseph Ryan, another of Vallow’s husbands.
