Grand Prairie teen killed in side-by-side 4-wheeler crash in Mansfield Saturday evening

A Grand Prairie teen was killed Saturday evening after being trapped under a Kawasaki Mule following a rollover crash in Mansfield, according to a news release from police.

Police said the driver of the Kawasaki Mule, a utility side-by-side, rolled the 4-wheeler while trying to make a turn in a cul-de-sac on Woodland Drive around 5 p.m. Saturday.

According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, the teen who died was 16-year-old Darius Jones.

Police said Jones was trapped under the vehicle when it rolled over. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. The driver of the vehicle survived with minor injuries.

Police are still investigating the crash and have not announced whether the driver will face any charges.
