Grand opening of inclusive Playground at Parc Sans Souci set for 10 a.m. Friday
Downtown Lafayette will celebrate the grand opening Friday of the new 6,000-square-foot inclusive Playground at Parc Sans Souci.
The celebration will begin at 10 a.m. at Parc Sans Souci, 201 E Vermilion St., Donors and stakeholders will speak at the event. The nearly $1 million privately funded project is a key component to a family-friendly experience in downtown Lafayette, given its location next to the Children’s Museum of Acadiana and the Lafayette Science Museum, according to a news release.
The playground includes equipment from Berliner Seilfabrik — a leading manufacturer for playgrounds across the world — and will be designed to accommodate children of all ages and with different abilities.
The event will be followed by a formal ribbon cutting and a festive celebration during Bach Lunch in Parc Sans Souci from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
