The Good Place's Jameela Jamil lands next movie role in Pixar's Elio
The Good Place star Jameela Jamil has landed her next movie role in Pixar's upcoming animation, Elio.
It was announced that the actress, who played Tahani Al-Jamil in all four seasons on the hit comedy series, was cast alongside Brad Garrett and the pair will join the previously-confirmed cast members, America Ferrera and Yonas Kibreab.
The synopsis for the 28th feature from the acclaimed studio reads: "For centuries, people have called out to the universe looking for answers—in Disney and Pixar’s all-new movie Elio, the universe calls back!

"The original feature film introduces Elio (Kibreab), an underdog with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organisation with representatives from galaxies far and wide.
"Mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe, and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be."
The animation will be written and directed by Coco's Adrian Molina, and is slated for a release on March 1, 2024. Jamil and Garrett will voice Ambassadors Questa and Grigon respectively, whilst Ferrera will play Elio’s mother, Olga.

Jamil, who has also appeared in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, recently revealed that she pulled out of an audition for Netflix’s You.
She explained: "I don't think I've ever been someone who would have enjoyed objectifying myself. I still wear the little skirt or the busty top occasionally. But generally, I feel quite protective of myself in that way.
"I don't do sex scenes. I was supposed to audition for the most recent season of [You]. My character was supposed to be quite sexy, and I pulled out of the audition, because I am so shy about anything sexy that I can't."
Elio is currently scheduled to be released on March 1, 2024.
