Good impression: Thursday's MetroWest and Milford-area Fantastic Five high school athletes

They made their case. Thursday's MetroWest and Milford-area Fantastic Five high school athletes put in winning performances on the eve of the MIAA's first spring power rankings release.

Their clutch goals, gaudy scoring totals and record-setting performances increased their standings in the upcoming state tournament or stood out with the nation's best.

Without further ado, the Fantastic five from April 25:

GABI CONSIGLI, Franklin girls lacrosse

She ended a double-overtime thriller with her third goal of the context in a 5-4 victory over King Philip. Franklin's Sophia Sacchetti (assist) and Vera Hanson each found the net once. Maisie Streesman saved nine shots for the Panthers (5-4).

JACK MARTIN, Westborough boys lacrosse

He scored his only goal of the game in overtime to deliver the Rangers their fist win 11-10 over St. Bernard's. Martin had five assists for Westborough (1-3). Jack Queenan put away four goals for the Rangers, while Luke Meliski found the net twice.

GABRIELLE PIERRE, Lincoln-Sudbury track and field

She set a school record in the triple jump at the Penn Relays. Pierre cleared 41 1/2 inches to break her own mark by more than two inches and qualify for nationals. It placed her 11th at the prestigious national event.

BELLA ROMAN, Algonquin girls lacrosse

She found the net seven times with an assist for the Titans in a 14-11 win over Wachsuett. Grace Chiota poured in six goals for Algonquin (4-3, 2-2 Mid-Wach A).

BRODY SHARPE, Wellesley boys lacrosse

He scored four goals with two assists, as the Raiders (4-4) bested Framingham 9-5.

Baseball

TRI-COUNTY 5, Blue Hills 0: Nathan McCurdy threw six shutout innings with nine striketous against just two walks for the Cougars (3-1, 2-0 Mayflower), who won their third game in a row. Joey Thomas, Sean Trusevitch and McCurdy each drove in a run in a five-run fourth.

HOPEDALE 10, Blackstone-Millville 0 (5): Brayden Lewis (triple, two runs) and Mike Rutkowski (RBI, run) each had two hits for the Blue Raiders (8-2, 4-0 Dual Valley). Hopedale's Ben Maoy doubled with an RBI and scored a run. Blue Raiders- starter Nathan Montville didn't allow a hit in four innings to earn the win.

Softball

TRI-COUNTY 15, Blue Hills 3 (5): Mackenzie Duffy was 3-for-3 with a solo homer in the third inning for the Cougars (4-1, 2-0 Mayflower). Tri-County's Ava Cossette and Kaleigh Stenstrom each added three hits and two RBIs, while Stenstrom earned the win in the circle.

HUDSON 8, Leominster 3: Livi Sousa, Lauren O'Malley and Liv Connolly (two runs) each collected two hits for the Hawks (5-3).

WELLESLEY 6, Latin Academy 3: Elizabeth McDonnell punched out 15 batters in a 6-3 win over Latin Academy. She added two hits and two RBIs for the Raidres (4-4). Wellesley's Mia Hasselback added three hits and two runs.

Boys lacrosse

AMSA 7, North Middlesex 5: Tavin Hirsh accumulated five points with three goals and two assists for the Eagles (7-0). AMSA's Luc Masse (assist) and Casey Matijevic each scored twice.

NATICK 11, Weymouth 5: Alex Peck scored five times with two assists for the Redhawks (5-4). natick's Levi Gagnon contributed a hat trick.

FRANKLIN 10, King Philip 4: Dylan McEvoy paced the Panthers (8-0 ) with a goal and an assist.

Girls lacrosse

WESTBOROUGH 17, North Middlesex 4: Kate Sams poured in four goals with two assists for the Rangers (8-2). Westborough's Regan Kittredge (two assists) and Lily Villaflor (three goals, one assist) each collected eight draw controls. Mackenzie Gage had a hat trick and two assists.

NIPMUC 18, Northbridge 5: Fallon Lozano scored five goals, and Liz Lange chipped in four for the Warriors (6-2, 5-0 Mid-Mass).

Boys tennis

GRAFTON 4, Algonquin 1: Titans' no. 3 singles player Jackson Stiles picked up a point with a gutty 7-5, 7-5 win over Max Schmidt.

Girls tennis

HOPEDALE 5, Northbridge 0: The Blue Raiders remained unbeaten with three straight-set wins. Kate Friesema took out Kate Leonard 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, while Sidney Hall won 6-0, 6-0 against Jordyn Priore at No. 2. Th ebLue Raiders No. 2 doubles team of Gabrielle Rinehart and Madison Buttonow beat Emily Billmyer and Nina McElreath 6-0, 6-0. Hopedale No. 1 Pia Obador won 6-1, 6-0 against Callie Jee, while the Blue Raiders top pair of Abbie Aldrich and Callie Costanza bested Charleigh Mitchell and Kelsey Costello 6-0, 6-2.

HUDSON 3, Clinton 2: The Hawks depth carried the day. Vivian Weatherbee picked up the lone Hudson (3-2) singles point at No. 3 when she beat Ella Askren 6-2, 6-4. Hudson swept the doubles points, as No. 1pair Gracie Garcia and Lauren Sterling prevailed 6-2, 6-2 over Sarah Santos and Rishantey Schotoborg, and the No. 2 team of Sophia Baker and Taylor Coyne won 6-3, 6-1 against Danielle Champagne and Kris Bayard.

WESTBOROUGH 4, Bromfield 1: A strong singles showing did the job for the Rangers (3-1, 3-1 Mid-Wach A). Gina Hajiseyedjavady took down Abigal Ames 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, while Diya Bhattacharya won 6-1, 6-0 over Khivi Tania at No. 2 singles and Sahasra Kommineni (No. 3) beat Louise Tatarev 6-3, 6-2. The Rangers' No. 2 doubles team of Ava Jacobs and Katie Xia triumphed 6-3, 6-4 against Caroline Ellis and Zariya Ali.

Girls golf

WESTBOROUGH 32.5, Worcester 9.5: Ashley Huang fired a 34 at Westborough Country Club to keep the Rangers (5-0) unbeaten.
