HILLSDALE — The Hillsdale Area Ministerial Association will hold its annual joint Good Friday service at noon March 29 at Christ Chapel on Hillsdale College’s campus.

Pastor Brandon Dengler of the Bankers Baptist Church said all denominations of religion are welcome to attend the joint service with offerings collected to be donated to Love, Inc. this year.

Dengler said around 300 people participated in the community Good Friday service last year and offerings benefited Share the Warmth, an overnight warming center operating during winter months at Sozo Church in Hillsdale.

“The Good Friday service is what I imagine heaven will be like,” Dengler said. “Non-denominational national divide … just Christians across our community coming together under one roof and in unison worshiping God in song and in giving, praying together and listening to a message that helps us remember and recognize the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for all of us on Good Friday.”

The HAMA organization also holds an annual community Thanksgiving service, a national day of prayer service on the courthouse square and a service is held on opening day of the fair annually, Dengler said.

Christ Chapel is located at 33 E. College St. on the north side of Hillsdale College’s campus with adjacent parking lots.
