Earlier this week, star golfer Brooks Koepka made headlines with his comment about catching Tigers Woods‘ major mark.

During an interview with Golf Digest, Koepka was asked if he thought he’d be able to win as many majors as Tiger. Ever the optimist, he suggested he’ll catch Jack Nicklaus by the time his career is over.

“In my mind, I’m going to catch him on majors. I believe that. I don’t see any reason that can stop me. I’m 31. I have another 14 years left,” Koepka said. “If I win one a year, I got Jack. People misconstrue that as being cocky. No, that’s just my belief. If I don’t have that belief, I shouldn’t be out there. If you don’t think you can win, why the hell are you teeing it up?”

He’s never been one to shy away from making a controversial statement. It’s clear Koepka believes in himself, but what do the fans think?

The reaction on social media seems to suggest they don’t think he can catch Tiger – let alone Jack.

People love his confidence, though.

Koepka won four majors in a three-year span from 2017-19. After winning those four titles in short succession, it looked like he was primed to make a run at the greats.

However, he hasn’t won a major in two years as he’s battled a series of injuries.

Can he catch Tiger?
