Golf for Kids' Sake concert, tournament to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock

The 19th Annual Golf for Kids’ Sake Kickoff Concert and Tournament benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock will kick off with a concert later this month before Lubbockites hit the links on May 3, according to title sponsor SERVPRO of Southwest Lubbock.

The kickoff concert will be held on Friday, April 26 at the SERVPRO Headquarters located at 7477 County Rd 7000 in Lubbock. Doors open at 6p.m. The tournament will be held on Friday, May 3 at Lakeridge Country Clublocated at 8802 Vicksburg Ave. in Lubbock with morning and afternoon flights at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock. The goal for this year’s event is to raise $100,000 with all money staying in Lubbock.Each year to kick off the 2024 tournament, a concert is held at the SERVPRO Headquarters. This year, the concertwill be on April 26, with music by award-winning The Spur 327 Band. There will be a live auction and raffles, as wellas a barbecue dinner provided by Smokin’ Raider Tailgater. The event is BYOB. Landon King, a crucial volunteer for the event year after year, will return as the event’s emcee.

Miss Lubbock Laney Whitfield will be assisting auctioneer Moe Evans with the live auction this year. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and tables of eight are $360.Sponsorships are also available. Tickets and tables for the concert can be purchased online on Eventbrite or by emailing marketing@servproofswlubbock.com.LakeRidge Country Club continues to be one of the biggest supporters for this yearly event. The tournament willhave two flights at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. with registration starting at 7 a.m. and noon. Breakfast will be provided byAll American Eatery and lunch will be provided by J&M BBQ. To date, returning sponsors include Commander’s Palace, Bam’s Complete A/V, South Plains Electric Coop, Andrus Brothers Roofing, City Bank, First Capital Bank, Lubbock National Bank, Lone Star State Bank, Prosperity Bank, King Consultants, United Supermarkets, South Plains Lions Club, and Tyler Technologies.

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal is a media sponsor this year. Bledsoe Insurance is providing a hole-in-one prize. Johnson Tax is providing prize money for the golf tournament.As the largest fundraiser year after year for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock, the concert and tournament are vital to their mission of providing youth with strong, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring services inLubbock and the South Plains area.
