Golden Retriever Patiently Waits for Mom to 'Apply Her Blush' Every Morning

Dogs take in way more than we realize. They basically are watching you and your actions all day long. So it's no surprise that one Golden Retriever really wanted in on her mama's morning routine and impatiently waited until her mom "applied blush" on her face too.

Sophia, a mom and teacher from Maine, now knows that she has to get her pup ready for the day too.

In the adorable clip she shared, it shows the dog waiting for her mom to notice her and "put her face on." Hilariously, Sophia was more than happy to oblige. She took her blush brush and lightly swiped the pup's cheeks and forehead. We're sure there wasn't really any blush on the brush, but it was more about the ritual — you know?

"Every morning she stares at me until I put on her blush..." the video's onscreen caption reads. "A girl's best friend, am I right?" Sophie joked in the caption.

The comments section pointed out that it looks like the pup is a total mama's girl. "She wants to be like mom," joked one person. "My Golden does this too omg!!" someone else shared. "You gotta admit that it brings out her eyes," kidded a third person. "My lab does this!! We have to brush her hair and do her make up. We also have to take it off at night," added another commenter.

All About Golden Retrievers

This scene was no surprise to Golden Retriever owners, who know that their pups are sweet, loyal, and totally enamored with their humans. In general, Goldens are one of the most popular dog breeds in the United States. They are excellent at hunting and at working in the fields. But are probably more well-known for their easy-going personalities.

Goldens are also outgoing, trust-worthy, and eager-to-please, making them particularly good family dogs. They're incredibly easy to train — another win if you're a first time dog owner or want to get a puppy. Overall, Goldens win people over with their joyful disposition. That sense of play doesn't leave them when they become adults either. Another win!

These dogs do shed and need plenty of daily exercise to stay healthy. If you like to stay active, Goldens make excellent buddies on a run or a bike ride. In general, Goldens are very healthy dogs and as this little one proves, are down to be your bestie for life. Just make sure to give yourself an extra five minutes to get them ready in the morning.
