What goes there? More warehouses going up in Carneys Point

CARNEYS POINT TWP. — Construction is underway on a two-warehouse complex that will create more than 1.12 million square feet of space, although the developer says who occupies it remains to be determined.

The Rockefeller Group Logistics Center received local planning approval in late 2022. The 141-acre property was assembled from 13 parcels purchased from 11 different owners.

“The project was designed on a speculative basis and will attract a majority of the market, which includes many types of users,” Rockefeller Group Regional Director Heath Abramsohn said Wednesday.

The warehouses are 596,443 square feet and 530,000 square feet, respectively, and will be available in 2025. Located at Forest Lane and Route 40 (Harding Highway), the site is less than 3 miles from Interstate 295 and about 3.5 miles from the New Jersey Turnpike.

“South Jersey represents an important industrial market for companies looking to distribute goods through the greater Mid-Atlantic and Northeast,” Abramsohn said. “The site provides easy access to The Port of New York and New Jersey, the Port of Philadelphia as well as the Port of Wilmington and the Port of Baltimore.”
