Goalies get the glory: Vote for the High School Girls Lacrosse Player of the Week
Cardinal Spellman High's Elle Murphy has been voted the High School Girls Lacrosse Player of the Week.
The junior received over 5,000 votes to earn the honor. Murphy scored 6 goals in a 9-6 win over Arlington Catholic.
And this week's candidates are...
Emily Fleming + Clare O'Keefe + Avery Valicenti, Archbishop Williams: The trio of Bishops all starred in a 17-16 win over Arlington Catholic. Fleming (4 goals, assist) tallied the overtime winner. O'Keefe had 9 points (3 goals, 6 assists), including No. 300 of her career. Valicenti scored 6 goals and had 3 assists.
Elle Murphy, Jr., Cardinal Spellman: Murphy scored 8 goals in a 17-11 loss to St. Mary's of Lynn. She became the program's first player to reach 200 career goals. She also had an 8-goal day in a 13-4 win over Fontbonne Academy.
Ashley McLaren + Emily Keefe, Bridgewater-Raynham: McLaren scored her 100th career point and Keefe nothced 7 goals in a 10-9 loss to Bishop Feehan. Keefe had 6 goals and 3 assists in a 21-12 win over New Bedford. McLaren had a hat trick in that one.
Avery Regan, Soph., Cohasset: Regan had 5 goals and an assist in a 15-9 win over Sandwich. She had 8 points (4 goals, 4 assists) in an 18-6 win over Dover-Sherborn.
Charlotte Wheeler, Jr., Hanover: Wheeler had 15 saves in an 8-6 win over Duxbury. It was the Hawks first win over the Dragons since at least 2008.
Izzy Puleo + Lily Samoska, Hingham: The goaltenders starred in a 16-5 win over Plymouth South. Puleo made 11 saves in her first varsity start. Samoska, the usual starter, scored her first career goal.
Megan Doyle, Sr., Weymouth: Doyle had 6 points and 14 draw controls in a 12-8 win over Needham. She tallied 10 points and 16 draw controls in a 16-7 win over Foxboro.

Liv Godwin, Sr., Whitman-Hanson: Godwin made 17 saves, including No. 300 of her career, in an 8-7 win over Plymouth North.
Autumn O'Campos, Sr., North Quincy: O'Campos (4 goals) scored her 200th career point in a loss to Hanover.

Maggie Keller, Sr., Silver Lake: Keller made her 500th career save in a 15-5 loss to Duxbury.
Bella Duffy, Jr., Braintree: Duffy had 6 goals and 3 assists in a 16-8 win over Canton.
Abby Beggans, Soph., + Olivia Comella, Jr., Wellesley: Comella scored four times and Beggans collected a hat trick in a 10-8 win over perennial power Westwood on Saturday. Beggans also netted five goals with two assists and won 14 draw controls in a 17-0 win over Natick. Comella notched a hat trick vs. the Redhawks.
Lydia Canavan + Harper Friedholm, Srs., Lincoln-Sudbury: They fired in five goals each in an 18-4 win over Waltham on Saturday. The Davidson College-bound Canavan also contributed an assist, a ground ball and two draw controls, while Friedholm, a Cornell University pledge, won four draw controls for the Warriors. In a 13-6 win over Westford Academy, Canavan scored four goals with an assist and a draw control while Friedholm contributed two goals, two assists, three ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers. In a 15-4 win over Weston, Friedholm put away nine goals on 11 shots and added an assist, three draw controls and a caused turnover.
Grace Chiota, Jr., Algonquin: Chiota amassed four goals and two assists in an 11-2 win over Groton-Dunstable.
Fallon Lozano, Jr., Nipmuc: Lozano collected five goals and two assists in a 14-0 win over Hopedale.
Anna Magennis + Julia Schreiber, Srs., Ashland: Schreiber accumulated seven points with four goals and three assists, including the 200th point of her career, and Magennis scored six goals with three assists in a 19-4 win over Hopkinton. In a loss to Wachusett, Magennis found the net five times while Schreiber contributed a goal and an assist. In a loss to Westwood, Magennis scored a hat trick with an assist while Schreiber added two goals.
Maeve Powers, Sr., AMSA: Powers scored four goals and notched the 100th point of her career in a 15-1 win over Assabet.
Kate Sams + Cayla Ehrlich, Srs., Westborough: Sams scored with three seconds remaining for the Rangers in a 10-9 win over Westborough. In a 16-10 win over Groton-Dunstable, they both scored their 100th career goal. Ehrlich had four goals and three assists, while Sams contributed a hat trick and an assist for the Rangers.
