Good Housekeeping is all about honoring holiday traditions and keeping those special memories alive. Even the most common ones, like baking Christmas cookies or decorating the tree with special ornaments, can mean so much to us the older we get. Plus, we're always looking forward to new ways to get in the festive spirit, whether that's hosting a cookie swap to getting the whole family in wearing matching Christmas pajamas.

And we're not the only ones. Our friends over at Good Morning America are also all about spreading holiday cheer, and this year, they are doing things bigger than ever with their "25 Days of Christmas," which kicks off on December 1. All month long, our beloved TV personalities will share with viewers unsung heroes, holiday performances from the biggest names in music and offer exclusive looks at what's on their wishlists.

But before all that, Michael Strahan, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Ginger Zee and Lara Spencer are sharing with us their favorite holiday memories and what they are looking forward to most this year.

Michael Strahan

My favorite memory: "One of my favorite holidays memories was when I was 6 years old, living in Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC. My parents bought me a train set and an electric racetrack for Christmas. They also bought a few of the electric racetracks for my brothers, so we intertwined them with the train, and we had our own little city in what seemed like a very elaborate creation for us as kids. That’s a special memory because the sense of teamwork and accomplishing it together stays with me today."

What I'm looking forward to: "I’m looking forward to having my kids home from college for the holidays. It’s just the togetherness and comfort of family because that’s the most important thing in life!"

Robin Roberts

My favorite memory: "I’m blessed to have many cherished memories from my childhood Christmases. It wasn’t about the presents, although my favorite was receiving Skittle-Bowl! What stands out the most is the warm and comforting atmosphere of Christmas morning. The sound of gospel tunes playing from the old Motorola record player console, the scent of bacon sizzling in the kitchen, and the sight of my parents’ content smiles because we were all together."

What I'm looking forward to: "This holiday season, I am most excited about being in Key West, our happy place. And for the first time as a married woman! One thing I can’t wait for is to ride our bikes with our pup Lukas in the basket, and see all the colorful lights and festive decorations. But above all, l am most looking forward to the warm and comforting feeling of togetherness, just like when I was a young child."

George Stephanopoulos

My favorite memory: "I loved watching holiday movies growing up. My favorite was A Charlie Brown Christmas. The scene where Linus transformed his blanket into a shepherd’s cloak to give a Christmas sermon amazed me."

What I'm looking forward to: "[My wife] Ali [Wentworth] and I became emptynesters when our youngest daughter left for college this year, so I am very much so looking forward to having both girls home for the holidays."

Ginger Zee

My favorite memory: "Christmas morning was always chaotic, with lots of people traveling between different houses. But on Christmas Eve, after coming home from church, I would have a quiet and intimate moment to open one gift with my mom, which became my favorite holiday tradition. Since I collected snow globes, receiving one on one of those nights would make it even more magical. I would add it to my collection, wind it up and watch the glitter and snow fly as I fell asleep."

What I'm looking forward to: "I am filled with excitement to see my boys' reactions during the holidays. They're 5 and almost 8 years old now, and they really understand what it's all about. They ask the right questions and find joy in giving and being grateful."

Lara Spencer

My favorite memory: "I think my favorite memory was always that first Saturday in December when it was time to bring home the tree and transform our living room with evergreens on the mantle and wrap the banister with tiny, white lights. My mom always went all out decorating the house with a fire place going and Christmas cookies in the oven. No one does Christmas better than her. I can still feel the warmth when I close my eyes."

What I'm looking forward to: "This Christmas, I am looking forward to my kids being home from college and hosting Christmas Eve for my mom, four siblings and their children. We are a big, fun and loud family, so there will be games, gift exchanging, a wonderful meal, and we’ll finish by going to midnight Church service."
