GLASSBORO - Fighter jets from Atlantic City will do a flyover during the borough’s annual Memorial Day parade.

The F- 16s will be piloted by the New Jersey Air National Guard 177th Fighter Wing, according to the Glassboro Memorial Day Parade Committee.

“The support we receive from New Jersey Air National Guard 177th Fighter Wing is second to none and this series of flyovers provides us an opportunity to say, ‘thank you’ to our community, while also demonstrating an important part of the Fighter Wing’s vision statement of local to global,” said Glassboro Councilman Andrew Halter.

The 177th Fighter Wing have done flyovers in previous years, including last year.

“The 177th Fighter Wing is honored to be able to provide a military flyover for the Glassboro Memorial Day Parade this year. Jersey Devil Airmen are privileged to serve the greatest nation in history and today we honor the fallen who have given their last full measure of devotion to that nation," said U.S. Air Force Col. Derek B. Routt, 177th Fighter Wing commander.

The parade will start at 10 a.m. Monday and feature an award-winning string band, children's bike brigade and different military groups.

Starting at the intersection of Lehigh and University, the parade will then proceed through downtown, traveling along Whitney and High streets before finishing at Academy. Following the parade, a ceremony will be held in the town square.
