Glenda Jackson’s last theatrical appearance before passing away, aged 87

Glenda Jackson, a two-time Oscar-winning actress and former Labour MP, has died at the age of 87.

A statement released by her agent on Thursday 15 June said that she died peacefully at her home in Blackheath, London, after a brief illness.

She had just finished filming The Great Escaper alongside Michael Caine.

Tributes have been pouring in for Jackson, who won the Acadamy Award for best actress in 1970 and 1973, for her performances in Women in Love and A Touch Of Class.
