Gisele Bündchen Recalls Almost Fatal Accident While Modeling

Gisele Bündchen is opening up about what can only be described as a frightening near-death experience while working on a modeling campaign.

During her Thursday night (March 21) appearance on The Tonight Show promoting her new cookbook Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul, the 43-year-old shared the terrifying moment she had while working on a photo shoot in Iceland years ago.

The revelation occurred in the "True Confessions" segment of the late-night talk show, which plays out like the popular game Two Truths and a Lie.

"I did a photo shoot on a fake iceberg in Iceland, and I almost fell into the ocean," she told host Jimmy Fallon and fellow guest Wayne Brady.

"It was, I think, 1997 or 1998," she noted, later adding that it was the summertime in Iceland.

When asked by Fallon, 49, why she was asked to use a fake iceberg, the supermodel explained that "It was a fake iceberg in the middle of real icebergs."

"I was there just kind of like this," she said while demonstrating a spinning motion. "While there was a drone filming me."

"You almost fell in," Fallon interjected.

"And I would have been dead in seconds," the Victoria's Secret model continued, "Because you know what happens when you fall inside of the freezing water of the icebergs? Seconds, you're dead. Dead!"

Both Fallon and Brady, 51, believed this was Bündchen's lie for the game, but they were wrong.

"No! It's true," she said with a smirk. "Yes, it's true. It was for this fragrance called Oxygene."

"I was supposed to be in this slip dress, while everyone was like in a boat, like all the crew was in a boat with huge puffer jackets and in life vests," she recalled. "And I was in a slip dress going like this," she added, reenacting her movements while taking a deep breath before repeating, "Oxygene, Oxygene," in her best promotional voice.

"But I'm alive," she concluded.
