Girls hoops Roundup: Teams play final games; Pittsford ends year with 17-5 record

HILLSDALE COUNTY — Thursday night saw the end of the girls basketball regular season. A few local teams wrapped up their seasons.

The Pittsford Wildcat girls basketball team won the SCAA East outright with their 34-23 win over Waldron, becoming the only conference champ from this season. Hillsdale Academy boys basketball was the only boys conference champ this year.

  • Camden-Frontier 31, Jackson Christian 27

    • After losing 38-29 to JC earlier this season, Camden-Frontier got a major statement win to head into the playoffs with momentum. They are winners of their final three games of the season.

    • Lexus Sigler and Regan Schaedler had eight points each. Averill Miller and Elexis Landwehr had seven each.

    • Sigler has a total 46 points for Camden-Frontier in the last three games.

  • Hillsdale Academy 50, North Adams-Jerome 13

    • The Colts finish second in the SCAA East race with a 12-2 record and an overall record of 14-8.

    • Ava King led the Colts with 11 points and six rebounds. Lydia Jackson had nine points, nine rebounds, four assists and seven steals. Iris Millies had seven points, two rebounds and five steals. Darby Horsfall had seven points and Madi Sallows had six points.

  • Ypsilanti Arbor Prep 61, Jonesville 22

    • Jonesville finishes the season at 12-10. The J.V. Comets ended their season with an overtime win against Hillsdale Academy 36-29. Leading the J.V. squad was Bryn Rusk with 15 points. Jaclyn Henry had eight points.

    • The varsity Comets head into the district playoffs hosting District 84.

  • Litchfield 33, Tekonsha 23

    • Litchfield girls basketball ended their regular season winning three of their final four games, including a win over rivals Tekonsha. The team ends the season with an 11-9 winning record.

  • Pittsford 36, Waldron 24

    • The Wildcats outright claim the SCAA East title after a 13-1 division record. Ava Mallar led the Wildcats with 16 points. Senior Halle Clark had seven points. Riley McCumber had eight points.

    • The Spartans end the regular season with a 15-7 overall record, 10-4 in the SCAA East. Both teams compete in the District 121 playoffs in Morenci.
