New Girl star takes on The Flash role for new DC project
The Flash is getting a new podcast to tie in with the movie — but without Ezra Miller.
DC has announced The Flash: Escape the Midnight Circus, an Apple Podcasts exclusive audio series with New Girl actor Max Greenfield taking over as Barry Allen.
The actor, who played Winston Schmidt in the Zooey Deschanel sitcom, has a little experience when it comes to voice acting, too. He played Roger in Ice Age: Collision Course, Boo Boo in Bob's Burgers, Maximillian Banks in BoJack Horseman and has popped up in Robot Chicken and Madagascar spin-off All Hail King Julien.

There's already a small audio trailer for the podcast, which sets up the basic plot, and you can check it out for yourself above.
Basically, The Flash sets out to save some hostages from Captain Cold, when he accidentally ends up in an alternate timeline. There, he's forced to take part in a tournament called the Midnight Circus without his powers, and has to team up with Captain Cold to survive and try and find his way home.
The Flash movie has had a very long and dramatic journey to the big screen, but it hasn't exactly set the cinema alight. It performed below expectations in its US box office debut, and went on to score the worst-ever week-on-week drop for a DC movie.
