Former MMA star Gina Carano caused some controversy earlier this week when she posted a nude photo of herself to Instagram. The social media platform eventually deleted it, and she took to Twitter in the aftermath to express her frustration with the decision.

Carano, who was upset about Instagram denying her freedom of expression, struck back in a way on Monday night. The former MMA champion posted a silhouette version of the photo in which she’s made out to be a tree. She included a quote with it as well:

“Draw the art you want to see… Start the business you want to run… Play the music you want to hear… Write the books you want to read… Build the products you want to use.. Do the work you want to see done… Before they control everything we eat, breath, say think & do.”

Clearly, Carano was not a fan of Instagram deciding that the post was inappropriate. As-of Tuesday morning, the new version is still live. She posted it on Twitter as well.

Carano, who last fought in 2009, has become a star actress in her second career. She’s currently in The Mandalorian – which has gotten great reviews.

Carano, who is now 38, won her first seven MMA matches before falling to Cris Cyborg back in 2009. In addition to fighting and acting, she also dabbled in modeling, posing for both ESPN the Magazine and Maxim.
