Capris are making a major comeback—if Gigi Hadid has anything to say about it, at least.

Last night, the supermodel made a striking appearance in New York City, where she revived the cropped-pants trend with an edgy twist. The centerpiece of Hadid’s statement-making outfit was a pair of high-waisted denim capris in acid wash from Jacquemus. Minimalist pieces complemented her bold choice of bottoms, including a plain black racerback tank top, a thick black belt with a circular gold buckle from Nili Lotan, a black leather crossbody bag, and black pointed-toe flats. She further accessorized with layers of gold chain necklaces, bulky gold hoop earrings, and black oval sunglasses.

The Guest in Residence founder recently made another chic appearance during Paris Fashion Week, when she showed up at the 2023 ANDAM Fashion Awards in a risqué all-black ensemble. Her head-to-toe Chloé look featured a breezy see-through one-shoulder top with a gold chain strap, silky wide-leg pants, pointed-toe black leather heels, and a square leather handbag. She finished off the outfit with some classic accessories, like black oval sunglasses from Dmy by Dmy and large gold-and-diamond hoop earrings by Simon G.

Hadid previously opened about her attitude toward getting dressed in an interview with Bazaar.com last year.

“My goal in life is to look as chic or put together as possible while always being comfortable,” she said. “I very rarely, even on red carpets, will wear things that I feel uncomfortable in throughout the event because I just feel like I can’t be myself as much when I’m thinking about what I’m wearing in that way.”
