Giada De Laurentiis Celebrates Daughter’s Birthday in Hawaii: ‘How Do I Have a 16-Year-Old?’

"I’m so lucky to call her mine," the former Food Network star said

Giada De Laurentiis is wishing her daughter a “Happy Birthday,” while simultaneously trying to figure out how time flies.

“Today is Jadey’s sweet 16– where does the time go?” the former Food Network star, 53, wrote in a social media caption on Friday. “She is the most kind, beautiful, caring, smart young lady and I’m so lucky to call her mine 💜.”

In the Instagram post, the Giada at Home talent and her only child, Jade, spent time on the Big Island of Hawaii.

The carousel included three photos. The first showed the mother-daughter duo on a hike together. De Laurentiis and Jade wore matching denim-colored tops, orange backpacks, straw hats, and sunshades as they posed in front of a waterfall.

The pair even wore their hair in matching pigtails as they explored the tropical oasis.

A second photo showed the birthday girl snacking on a cherry that had previously been a garnish in her drink as she sat at a dinner table wearing all white for the special occasion.

De Laurentiis returned for the last slide — a picture of the ladies out on the water.

The chef didn’t stop there! Over on her Instagram Stories, she focused on details with snaps that showed a close-up of a sushi arrangement, as well as a beach sunset photo that included a row of palm trees.

De Laurentiis' fans also wished Jade a “Happy Birthday” in the comment section.

“Been watching you for years… nice job mama! you and todd should be proud,” one person said, referring to De Laurentiis’ ex-husband Todd Thompson.

Last month on Valentine's Day, Jade and her mother’s boyfriend of more than seven years, Shane Farley, teamed up to make the cookbook author a meal she’d love.

“Best Vday surprise ever!” De Laurentiis captioned her Instagram post, while also sharing an extended version on her YouTubeGiadzy’s channel.

“It’s nearing Valentine’s Day, so we thought we would make a dish for somebody who cooks for us all the time,” Farley said before he and Jade began to make cacio e pepe.

As they cooked in the clip, Jade jokingly admitted that she is not always the most reliable person when it comes to washing dishes after the meal is done.

“Sometimes I actually do help. I’m not like a fully terrible person,” the teen playfully said.

Once the dish was done, it was time to bring in De Laurentiis for a taste test.

“It looks like cacio e pepe. It smells like cacio e pepe, but is it cacio e pepe?” the Giada’s Italy author asked. After going in for another bite, she confirmed, “It’s very good.”
