Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire star explains "important" Phoebe change
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire star Mckenna Grace has explained the "important connection" her character Phoebe Spengler makes during the latest addition to the supernatural franchise.
Speaking to Digital Spy about Phoebe's unexpected friendship with a ghost called Melody (Emily Alyn Lind) the actress said it was important for her character to explore her identity after being kicked out of the ghost-battling squad for being too young.
"I really enjoyed working with Emily. I thought that was an important connection for Phoebe to have outside of the family because she feels very isolated in this film, so that's her first connection outside of these guys and Podcast," she said.
"It was very interesting to play Phoebe on this arc of figuring out what to do now that she's kicked out of Ghostbusters and has to prove herself back to them."

Grace wasn't the only star to recall her favourite moments from working on the film, with Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard adding that it was "truly great" to film with iconic green ghost Slimer during Frozen Empire.
"It was truly great. I got to see a bunch of old schematics and the puppet of the original," he said.
"There's CGI in this one, but we shot a lot with this puppet, exact same dimensions as the original. They took the mould from 1984, made a new one, and it was pretty amazing. I also got slimed, and it is insanely cool."
Released today (March 22), Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire sees the Spengler family team up with the original Ghostbusters crew to tackle a whole new icy phenomenon threatening the safety of New York City.

The film has so far been met with mixed reviews from critics, sitting at 44% on Rotten Tomatoes at the time writing after 195 reviews.
Meanwhile, Digital Spy called the film a "definite improvement" in its three-star review, writing: "It's still a step in the right direction for the revived Ghostbusters franchise.
"Old fans can revel in the nostalgia, while there are promising signs that they're doing something original for new fans."
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is out now in cinemas.
