Gerry Turner is looking forward to the summertime.

On May 9, the Golden Bachelor star, 72, made his return to Instagram nearly a month after the news of his bombshell divorce from Theresa Nist, whom he met, proposed to and later wed on TV.

In the post, he shared an update on how he's been keeping busy — and who's been keeping him company.

"My favorite time of the year on the Lake, and Cody's too! In addition to her loving up on my dad and taking boat rides, she has the full time job of keeping the geese off the shore," Turner wrote in the post's caption. "Summer is close."

The new upload featured a carousel of photos of Turner's dog, Cody, and his father, as they all enjoyed some time on the lake in the sunshine together. He was notably not featured in any of the photos.

In a sit-down interview with Good Morning Americaon April 12, the couple announced their decision to split after just three months of marriage. They shared that distance proved to be a problem — Turner lives in Indiana while Nist, 70, resides in New Jersey — as they are both so dedicated to their families.

"Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we've looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth, and we've kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it's probably time for us to dissolve our marriage," Turner said.

Nist said they “looked at home after home, but we never got to the point where we made that decision,” and eventually, the distance proved to be too much.

“The thing that strikes me the most in our conversations, it's been how dedicated both of us are to our families,” Turner said. “So we look at these conversation and we both think it's best for the happiness of each of us to live apart."

Nist broke her silence on the split on April 15, calling the Golden Bachelor and her relationship with Turner “one of the most incredible experiences of my life, something I never expected to happen at this point in my life and I truly thought it was going to last forever. It turns out, even at the age of 70, you don’t know everything.”

“Sometimes things don’t go the way you planned and that’s okay," she shared on Instagram. "I take so many positives away from this experience, most importantly and above all the incredible friends I now have in all of these amazing, wonderful women and in Angie and Jenny, Payton and Charlee, the producers, the production crew and so many of you.”

While Turner had long stayed silent on the split on his social media, his daughter Angie issued a plea for fans to “remember that behind every story, there are real people with real feelings” in an Instagram post.

“It’s no surprise the news of my Dad and Theresa choosing to split has sparked a range of emotions and opinions. I love how invested people were in the show, what an experience to have you along for the ride!” she wrote. “What has been disheartening is the level of rage and cruelty that our family has been met with. My Dad and Theresa are kind, good people that made this decision for them, no one else.”
