German man ‘violently killed’ wife and 3-year-old child, police say

A German man was arrested Wednesday after police said he killed his wife and his 3-year-old child.

The unidentified 30-year-old man was detained in Zwickau, an eastern German city about 130 miles south of Berlin.

Police said the man turned himself in and admitted to attacking his family. Cops found the unidentified woman, 43, and child dead at his home.

“According to current information, both were violently killed,” police said.

At least 10 women are killed in Germany each month by partners or ex-partners, according to local organizations.
